Recently, we held a New Year meeting with all staff from both the Silom and Asok branches. During the meeting, we reviewed the past year and discussed our goals for the year ahead. We also talked about the direction our staff should move toward in order to achieve the company’s goals.

Because there are cultural differences between Japan and Thailand, it is not realistic to impose only Japanese ways of thinking. I believe it is important to maintain world-class standards while making some adjustments to suit the local culture. Japanese people tend to be very serious and follow instructions strictly, whereas Thai staff benefit from having a bit more flexibility and enjoyment in their work. If we apply the same level of strictness used in Japan, many Thai staff may find it difficult to keep up. However, it is still essential to maintain a world-class level of treatment and service, so we discussed how we can achieve and sustain such high standards.

I have been involved in management in Thailand for over 20 years, and I believe that enjoying one’s work is very important for Thai people. They have a strong desire to grow, but they can also become bored easily, so it is important to support their development in a way that keeps them engaged. They are quick to embrace new things, but repeating the same tasks over and over can feel monotonous. Therefore, we continuously introduce new techniques and ideas from Japan and practice them. After some time, we introduce new techniques again and repeat this cycle at a fast pace. I believe this approach also contributes to the growth of the clinic.

Compared to 20 years ago, the number of Japanese and local Thai clinics in Thailand has increased by about ten times, and the overall level of clinics has improved. However, many other clinics mainly rely on machines for treatment, which allows even relatively inexperienced therapists to perform treatments. At Pain Away, we focus our training on consultation, assessment, manual techniques, and treatment, making daily training essential. I believe this also contributes to Thai society.

In the future, I think a clear difference will emerge between clinics that can provide high-quality treatment and those that cannot. At Pain Away, we will continue daily practice and training to deliver an even higher level of treatment and service.
