Common Back Pain Symptoms We Treat

From the hundreds of patients we treat every week, over 60% of them suffer from back pain related ailments. Are you experiencing any of the following:

  • Stiff or stuck lumbar region
  • Sore pain at the bottom of the back
  • Pain shoots or cramps
  • Sudden cramps with certain movements
  • Radiance of the pain to the buttocks or thighs
  • Stabbing pain

If so, we’d like to assure you treating these types of pain is exactly our expertise.

Bad Posture Causes Back Pain

We just cannot stress it often enough – adopting a correct posture is very important. Many patients that visit our clinic suffer from pain that can be attributed to it. Bad posture can cause pain even when idle – when just sitting, standing or lying down for an extended period.

We urge you to try this right now – roll your shoulders back, straighten your back, and pull your neck backwards. Give it 5 minutes and you’ll feel an immediate improvement. If this causes discomfort, the condition you’re experiencing might be severe. Seek help now and give us a call.

Not Sure Where to Begin?

Start with an In-Depth Posture Report at Our Clinic.

At our clinic, we have special equipment that allow us to help assess irregularities that may occur in your spine, as well as licensed physiotherapists trained to use it. We’ve found our Posture Report helps a lot as our patients are able to understand through the visual aid any issues with their back and spine, where other methods for visualization may fail.

Here is an example of one such reports. You can click on it to zoom in.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why does my back pain keep coming back?
Recurring back pain is often caused by underlying factors such as poor posture, muscle weakness, joint stiffness, reduced mobility, or repetitive daily habits. Rather than only treating the painful area, our physiotherapists assess how your spine, hips, posture, and movement patterns may be contributing to the problem. Treatment focuses on reducing your current symptoms while addressing the factors that may cause the pain to return.
Will you only treat the area where my back hurts?
Not necessarily. Back pain can sometimes be influenced by problems elsewhere in the body, such as hip weakness, limited spinal mobility, muscle imbalance, or poor posture. Your physiotherapist will assess your overall movement and function to identify the underlying causes of your symptoms and create a treatment plan based on what your body needs.
Do I need an MRI before starting treatment for back pain?
Not always. Many cases of back pain can be assessed effectively through a detailed physical examination, including posture, movement, muscle strength, joint mobility, and neurological testing when appropriate. If your symptoms suggest that imaging or further medical investigation is necessary, our team will recommend the appropriate next step.
Will I receive exercises for my back and posture?
Yes. Exercise is an important part of long-term recovery. Your physiotherapist may prescribe individualized exercises to improve mobility, strength, posture, and movement control. These exercises are designed to complement your in-clinic treatment and help reduce the risk of your back pain returning.
