Practical Seminar in Japan on “A Brain-Based Approach to Pain Relief, Movement, and Performance”

At Pain Away Clinic, we continuously participate in professional medical and sports therapy seminars in Japan to provide higher-quality treatment for our patients in Bangkok.

Recently, our director attended the Functional Brain Therapy Practical Seminar in Japan. The seminar focused on how the brain and nervous system influence movement, balance, posture, reflexive stability, and sports performance.

Traditional treatment often focuses on muscles, joints, and painful areas. However, movement problems and chronic pain are not always caused only by local tissue issues. The way the brain receives sensory information, processes it, and sends signals back to the body can strongly affect posture, coordination, balance, and physical performance.

One of the most important concepts from the seminar was the importance of reassessment. After each exercise or neurological stimulus, the therapist checks whether the body shows a positive response, negative response, or no change. This allows treatment to be adjusted individually instead of applying the same method to every patient.

The seminar also emphasized three key principles of neural training: Safe, Small, and Specific. Exercises should be performed within a range where the body does not feel threatened. Even small amounts of precise input can create meaningful changes when selected correctly.

At Pain Away Clinic, we will share this knowledge with our therapists and apply it to patients with chronic pain, sports injuries, posture problems, balance issues, and those seeking better athletic performance.

We will continue learning advanced techniques from Japan and abroad so that we can provide safe, effective, and high-quality care to all our patients.
